Juzaitis Appointed To Council

Avalon resident, Barbara Juzaitis, was appointed by Borough Council to fill the unexpired term of longtime councilman Dick Dean following his retirement. After a unanimous vote, Juzaitis was sworn in to her position by Mayor Martin Pagliughi during the council meeting on Dec. 12. She will serve the remainder of Dean’s term through June 30, 2019. “Barbara is remarkably credentialed and brings an exemplary level of professionalism and public service to Borough Council,” said Mayor Pagliughi. “Council has made an excellent choice and I look forward to working with Barbara on many important initiatives in our community. She is a very welcome addition to the Avalon team, and highly regarded by her neighbors in Avalon.” Juzaitis has a Bachelor of Science Degree (Summa Cum Laude, B.S.N.) from Immaculata University and holds a master’s degree in Nursing/Healthcare Administration from the University of Delaware. She has over 30 years’ experience as a professional healthcare manager, director and consultant and currently serves as a consultant in the health care field. She previously served the Avalon Planning and Zoning Board and was a board member of the American Red Cross, South Jersey Chapter. She currently serves as a board member and public health representative for the Borough’s local emergency planning committee and she is also a board member of the Avalon Rescue Squad. |
