Avalon National Night Out 6-8pm, 30th Street parking lot
Explore a fire truck, get in the seat of some of the biggest trucks Avalon has to offer, and browse displays and giveaways from local organizations. Enjoy National Night Out in Avalon with character appearances, food, face painting, live music and more.

Thursday, August 8 Avalon Baby Parade Registration 5:30 pm, Judging 6pm, Parade 6:30pm, Shamrock Deli, 21st and Ocean Drive
Grab your little ones and head over to 21st Street for the annual Avalon Baby Parade. Enter in a variety of categories including Best Beach Baby, Best Float Design, Happiest Baby and more for a chance to win trophies and join in the parade! Mickey Mouse and friends will be there to meet the young participants, along with crafts and giveaways. The parade will head down the street to Veterans Plaza, where awards will be given to winning participants. Live music by Boy in Black following awards from 7-8:30pm.

Friday-Sunday, August 9-11 Ocean Galleries Presents Artist Josef Kote, “Serenity Found” Ocean Galleries Stone Harbor, 9618 Third Ave.
Back by popular demand, Kote returns with an all new collection, featuring his distinctive style of blending classic academic and abstract elements. Evident in many of his paintings is Kote’s favorite subject matter – water – featuring oceanscapes and water-themed paintings. Special artist receptions on Friday and Saturday from 7-10pm and Sunday from 1-4pm.

Saturday, August 10 Cape Regional’s 7 Mile Island Designer House Tour 11am-4pm
Explore the most unique homes on the island in this annual tour featuring modern designs, shore classic décor, new construction and extensive renovations. Tickets are $35 and on sale at the Avalon Chamber of Commerce Welcome Center or by calling the Cape Regional Foundation.

Sunday, August 11 Stone Harbor Surf & Turf 5-Miler & 1-Mile Beach Run
6:45am registration, 8am race, 8100 Second Ave.
Grab the family and spend the morning focusing on fitness! The first 2.5 miles of this run will be held on the beach at 80th street, then south to Stone Harbor point and back, with the final 2.5 miles on the road. Kids and relay participants are encouraged to join in!

Saturday, August 17 Bay Atlantic Symphony Concert

In “Passion and Fire,” the symphony’s second appearance in Avalon will feature Schumann’s Cello Concerto and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 3 in E-flat op. 55. Tickets are not required for this event.

Saturday, August 17 Festival of Lights Boat Parade Dusk, Yacht Club of Stone Harbor, 9001 Sunset Drive
Deck your decks, docks and boats to the nines for the “Lights of Broadway” at the annual Festival of Lights Boat Parade. The parade will begin at dusk and visit basins throughout Stone Harbor. Prizes will be awarded for Best Decorated Dock, Best Decorated Boat and Best Costume. Registration is required.
